CIMC Bags Jack-Up Deal from Thaumas Marine

Thaumas Marine Ltd., a subsidiary of Malaysia-based investment holding company Coastal Contracts Bhd, has placed an order for a gas compression jack-up unit to be built at Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore Limited (China).

The jack-up unit, slated for delivery in 2015, will be based on CIMC’s Taisun 200B design. After delivery, the unit will work for Pemex in the Gulf of Mexico. The charter contract is for a period of eight years with an extension option of up to twelve years.

Supported by four cylindrical legs, each having the length of 112m, the jack-up is capable of operating in water depths of up to 55m. The unit has the capacity to process up to 200 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (MMSCFD).

The jack-up, to be classed by ABS, will feature a design temperature that ranges from 0-45 degrees Celsius.
