Clean Current exits hydrokinetic industry

Clean Current Power Systems, a Canadian hydrokinetic developer, has announced that the company is leaving hydrokinetic business after 15 years in the sector.

According to Clean Current Power Systems, all obligations to employees, suppliers and business partners have been met and the company will be shut down in an orderly way.

Clean Current has designed a line of river and tidal turbines and produced 64 US and international patents in the areas of ducted turbine design, flooded fault tolerant permanent magnet generator design, and protective marine coating technology, according to the company.

The company’s portfolio will soon be made available for sale via the US patent brokerage firm Tangible IP.
