CNOOC: Production starts from South China Sea field

Chinese oil company CNOOC Limited has informed that the Weizhou 6-9/6-10 comprehensive adjustment project in the South China Sea has started production.

The Weizhou 6-9/6-10 oilfield is located in Beibu Gulf in the South China Sea with an average water depth of approximately 35 meters. In addition to fully utilize the existing facilities of Weizhou 6-9/6-10, this adjustment project has also built one wellhead platform.

There is currently one producing well producing approximately 850 barrels of crude oil per day. The adjustment project is expected to reach its ODP designed peak production of approximately 3,800 barrels of crude oil per day in 2018.

The Weizhou 6-9/6-10 is an independent oilfield in which the company holds 100% interest and acts as the operator.
