CNPC President Welcomes Western Australia Premier

On June 5, CNPC President Liao Yongyuan met with Premier of Western Australia Colin Barnett in Beijing.

They exchanged views on oil and gas cooperation between the two sides in Western Australia. CNPC Vice-Chief Economist Wang Lihua was present at the meeting.

Also, when it comes to energy relations between Australia and China, BHP Billiton today announced it has sold its 8.33 per cent interest in the East Browse Joint Venture and 20 per cent interest in the West Browse Joint Venture, located offshore Western Australia, to PetroChina International Investment (Australia) Pty Ltd for US$1.63 billion.
