Corps Introduces Nome Harbor Dredging Plan (USA)
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has introduced a plan for the dredging project at the Nome Harbor, Alaska.
The contractor should:
– Perform maintenance dredging of an estimate 34,000 cubic yards of material for the base and each of 4 option years (if awarded);
– Perform maintenance dredging of an additional 16,000 cubic yards of material in 2013 (if awarded);
– Place the dredged material on the beach in the designated placement area;
– Provide pre and post dredge surveys.
The dredged materials are expected to be fine-grained shoaled material. The contractor should furnish all labor, equipment, supplies, materials, supervision and other items and services necessary to accomplish the work.
A fuel price adjustment for the dredge plant is included.
The estimated cost of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.
The estimated award date is February 1, 2013.
