Croatia: Adria Winch, Seaonics to Supply Deck Equipment for Siem Offshore’s OSCV

Adria Winch, Seaonics to Supply Deck Equipment for Siem Offshore’s OSCV

Adria Winch, together with its partner Seaonics AS, has recently won a contract to supply deck equipment for two STX OSV’s Offshore Subsea Construction Vessels of 11 L design. The vessels are currently being built in STX OSV Brattvaag Shipyard for a Norwegian owner, Siem Offshore.

Under the contract, the scope of supply includes custom deigned deck equipment – two Electrical Anchor Mooring winches for 56K3 chain category with stoppers and two Electrical Mooring Winches with 100 kN pulling force.

The electrically driven winches are characterized with far greater efficiency from that of traditional hydraulic systems. The latest technology of variable frequency drives (VFD) allows controllable speed and line pull force. This technical solution reduces installation costs, power consumption and it is time-saving when it comes to anchor-mooring operations. The value of each contract is EUR 203.400.

The contract for Offshore Subsea Construction Vessels represents a successful follow-up to the earlier cooperation with STX OSV on three Fishing Vessels – “Gadus Poseidon“ , “Gadus Njård“ and “Gadus Neptun“, which were constructed for  Norwegian company Aker Seafood ASA.
