Croatia: Brodosplit Delivers MV Solin

Croatia: Brodosplit Delivered MV Solin Back

Croatian-based shipbuilder BRODOSPLIT on July 10 delivered the bulk carrier MV Solin. On behalf of the owner the delivery documentation was signed by Mr. Branimir Kovačić, CEO of Jadroplov, and on behalf of shipyard by Mr. Neven Jug, Manager of commercial division.

The dimensions of the bulk carrier carrying the name MV „Solin“ – 189,90 m length, 32,24 m breadth, 17,10 draught and 51.545 t deadweight – are similar to those of m/v ”Sveti Dujam” delivered to Jadroplov in 2010, which was named as bulk carrier of the year, and included in Top 20 Ships of the Year 2011. list by the Australian magazine „Ships&Shipping“.

M/v „Solin“’s 211t main engine was built in Brodosplit diesel engine factory under MAN B&W licence. The power of 7500 kW at 110 rpm will enable the ship to develop speed of 15 knots.

According to new maritime regulations, main engine and propeller designs were improved, which resulted in less fuel consumption and less pollution in comparison to earlier sister ships built for the same owner. The structure of the ship is reinforced for transport of iron products.
