The Naval Architects Magazine Recognizes Piana and Orange Star as Ships of The Year 2011

Vessels “Piana“ and “Orange Star“ will be covered in annual publication of The Naval Arhitects which will be published in February. “Orange Star“ is a handy carrier for transportation of refrigerated fresh fruit juice, the largest orange juice carrier ever built. Her length is 189,90 m and payload 32.000 cubic m. “Orange Star“, a unique project for Croatian shipbuilding, was delivered in February 2011.

Ro-pax ˝Piana“ is the vessel for transportation of passenger, cars, trucks and vehicle with dangerous cargo on the route Marseille – Bastia in Corsica. She is the first ro-pax, which has being built on newly established regulations which provides the highest standards of stability, safety of life at sea and environmental protection, and the highest degree of comfort-class. ˝Piana˝ is delivered in December 2011.

Since 1987 Brodosplit Shipyard Ltd. won 12 awards for the Ship of the Year in their categories, according to the Maritime Reporter and Engineering News and Marine Log, USA, Ships and Shipping, Australia and RINA (The Royal Institution of Naval Architects), London, UK for different types of ships.
