Dae Sun to Build Three Tankers for KSS Line

South Korean shipping company KSS Line has placed an order for three small eco-friendly oil/chemical tankers at its compatriot shipyard Dae Sun Shipbuilding and Engineering Co.

Under the agreement, signed between the parties on May 31, the SUS chemical tankers will have a capacity of 3,500 dwt, according to KSS Line.

The shipping company did not disclose the price of the contract.

KSS Line operates a fleet of 22 vessel, twelve of which are LPG tankers, six are chemical tankers and four are LNG tankers.

The company currently has five newbuilding LPG tankers on order, all of which are expected to join their owner in 2017.

With this order, Dae Sun Shipbuilding further expands its orderbook as earlier this week the shipbuilder snatched a deal for two small clean chemical/product tankers.

Ordered by the South Korean shipping company Heung-a-Shipping, the 6,500 dwt duo is scheduled for delivery in 2018, according to data from VesselsValue.
