Damen Names Two SeaZip Vessels

Damen held a naming ceremony for the two new SeaZip vessels SeaZip 3 and SeaZip 4 on Saturday.

The vessels were named by Mrs Marie Le Roy a Councillor from the Harlingen Council (the town where  SeaZip have their offices) and Mrs Mirna Robert – Du Ry van Beest Holle, the wife of Peter Robert the Business Development Manager for Offshore Wind at Damen Shipyards.

One of the vessels will join SeaZip 1 and SeaZip 2 working out of Heligoland for RWE while the other will start work on a cable laying related contract near Copenhagen for Siem Offshore.

The deal for the two vessels was signed in September 2014 following the delivery of two FCS 2610 the year before.

Although fundamentally of the same design, Damen has implemented the modifications to FCS 2610. “We have made a number of improvements to these two vessels,” informs Damen Sales Manager Roel van Eijle. “Mainly in the superstructure and a better accommodation for the passengers.”

SeaZip 3 and SeaZip 4 will be mobilised in transporting personnel and small quantities of freight to North Sea offshore wind farms.
