Danish Ramboll to Make Enhancements to Maersk Inspirer Jack-up

Ramboll Oil & Gas has been appointed by Maersk FPSO on an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract – the first time ever that Ramboll has undertaken such an initiative from start to finish.

Extended project scope

The project involves enhancements to Maersk Inspirer, a jack-up drilling unit with integrated process facility and wellhead module, operated by Maersk FPSO for Statoil and currently located in the Norwegian part of the North Sea.

The objective is to increase the well capacity on the Maersk Inspirer by incorporating a new production well and a water injection well, with the possibility that the project may be extended with two additional wells.

Ramboll’s responsibilities comprise the detailed design of four wells, fabrication and installation, the procurement of equipment and materials, as well as an extension of the existing ABB control system and the wellhead control panel.

Delivering turnkey solutions

 “This appointment represents a significant step forward in the enormous and strategically important Norwegian market“, says Project Manager and Director of Department, Søren Eg Hansen.

He adds, “Clients are increasingly looking to procure turnkey solutions and this contract demonstrates that we are perceived as a strong partner at all stages of the project life cycle.”

Work on the project has already begun and is expected to be completed by the end of 2013.
