DBJ Acquires Stake in Gunfleet Sands OWFs

Development Bank of Japan Inc. (DBJ) has decided to co-invest with Marubeni Corporation in the UK’s Gunfleet Sands offshore wind farms 1 and 2.

According to the DBJ site, the bank and Marubeni will each own 24.95 percent stake in the offshore wind farms while Dong Energy will retain its majority ownership share of 50.1 percent.

For DBJ, this investment is part of its policy to apply inventive financing to resolve client issues, further leading to the pervasiveness of clean energy and the future prosperity of its clients.

Gunfleet Sands Offshore Wind Farm consists of two phases, Gunfleet Sands 1 and 2. The construction phase for the total project comprising Gunfleet Sands 1 and 2 commenced in September 2008. Commissioning started in 2009, and the wind farm reached full production during the spring of 2010.
