DEA Norge: First Dvalin module installed on Heidrun platform

Norwegian operator DEA Norge has informed that the Dvalin H25 module has been installed on the Heidrun platform, six days after leaving the yard in Haugesund.

The actual lift from the heavy lift vessel S 7000, was performed in the early morning this Monday.

Dvalin Topsides Manager Roy Padgett says:“I have to thank everyone involved for making this a very smooth and safe operation. Everything went according to plan – even the weather was excellent. The H25 module installation is a huge milestone for the project”, he says

The H25 module is a MEG and Methanol utility module to the main process module M40. The M40 module is currently under construction at the Aibel yard in Haugesund.

Together with the M40 module, the 577-tonne H25 module will enable the Heidrun platform to receive the gas production from the DEA Norge-operated Dvalin field. The M40 module will weigh 4000 tons and is expected to be delivered in March 2019.

The Dvalin gas field is located in the Norwegian Sea about 15 kilometers north-west of the Statoil-operated Heidrun platform and 290 kilometers from the Nyhamna process plant. DEA submitted the plan for development and operation of the Dvalin field to the Norwegian authorities in October 2016, and the plan was approved in March 2017. The first gas from the field is expected in 2020.

Aibel is responsible for the modification project that will ensure that the Heidrun platform can accept gas production from the Dvalin field. The contract includes engineering, procurement, construction work, and installation, including the two M40 and H25 modules.
