Denmark: Anholt Offshore Wind Farm Constructed in LEGOLAND

Denmark Anholt Offshore Wind Farm Constructed in LEGOLAND

Soon, almost 40,000 LEGO® bricks have been used for building a miniature version of the Anholt Offshore Wind Farm in the area ‘Energy in Denmark’ in Miniland in LEGOLAND®.

Together with LEGOLAND®, DONG Energy has built the offshore wind farm in Miniland consisting of seven wind turbines, which will be ready in August. The seven wind turbines is a section of the real Anholt Offshore Wind Farm, which consists of 111 offshore wind turbines.

“The construction of the offshore wind farm in LEGOLAND® follows the same time schedule as the real Anholt Offshore Wind Farm in the Kattegat, which will become Denmark’s largest wind farm, and which on the inauguration day has been almost two years in the making,” said Sanne Troldborg, Event Coordinator in DONG Energy.

 Something for everybody

Already now, the whole family has a chance to explore energy generated by the offshore wind farm. The area in Miniland is equipped with an information stand which provides up-to-date information on the project, and which among other things tells the guests why offshore wind turbines are more efficient than onshore wind turbines. You can also send a greeting to your family or friends from the area in Miniland.

Playing and learning go hand in hand

“Playing and learning go hand in hand just like wind and wind turbines. If we can teach our children about energy through playing, it will hopefully excite some of the children and create a better understanding and sense of what energy actually is”, said Sanne Troldborg from DONG Energy.
