Denmark Breaks Wind Energy Record

Denmark has set another world record by producing 39% of its electricity needs from wind in 2014.

Last year saw the completion of Anholt offshore wind farm as well as record number of onshore wind turbines connected to the grid.

“I am particularly pleased that the energy industry has again shown that wind turbines have a central role in a modern energy system, and that it is possible to handle large amounts of wind power with ease,” says Jan Hylleberg, managing director or Danish Wind Industry Association.

In 2013, wind energy provided electricity for almost a third of Danish needs.
