Denmark: Continuous Hectic Activity in Anholt Offshore Wind Farm

Denmark Continuous Hectic Activity in Anholt Offshore Wind Farm

Even though the last wind turbine has been installed at the Anholt offshore wind farm, there is still hectic activity completing the commissioning and performing the one-year service on the wind turbines.

A total of approximately 250 people work in the offshore wind farm on a daily basis, and the hotel vessel, Wind Perfection, is expected to stay at the wind farm until mid-July to support efficient logistics.

At the end of May 2013, 91 of the 111 wind turbines have been connected to the grid and produced electricity.

In addition, stones will be laid out to protect the cables on the distances where it has not been possible to sufficiently flush down the cable.

On shore in Grenaa, Siemens is re-establishing the area which has been used as pre-assembly site in connection with the wind turbine installation. At the same time, the marine coordination manning has been changed from being open 24 hours to manning between 05:00 and 22:00 with telephone duty outside opening hours.

However, the installation area will still be monitored from the guard vessel, Guard 1, which is permanently moored in the offshore wind farm and helps ensure that yachts and other vessels do not sail into the working area.
