Denmark: Kaj Lindvig Resigns from A2SEA

During this summer, Kaj Lindvig, Senior Advisor at A2SEA, celebrated his 60 years birthday. By the end of August, Kaj’ Lindvig then says goodbye to A2SEA, a company on which he has left his mark to a great extend since the establishment in 2000. A reception will be held for Kaj Lindvig on 22 August from 14.00-16.00 at A2SEA, Kongens Kvarter 51 in Fredericia.

In 2001, Kaj Lindvig took the plunge to the newly established company, A2SEA in Fredericia. The company wanted to rebuild two container-feeder vessels into offshore wind installation vessels. A2SEA succeeded in getting an order for installing the first 80 offshore wind turbines in the world in 2002 – at Horns Rev outside Esbjerg. Since this, A2SEA has developed rapidly. Kaj Lindvig was CEO until 2008 where the management group was extended and Kaj Lindvig continued as Chief Sales Officer responsible for sales, service and business development. A2SEA, who in 2009 and 2010 was acquired by DONG Energy (51%) and Siemens Wind Power (49%), is today a company with more than 500 employees and a turnover of more than 1.2 bn DKK.

Concurrently with his work at A2SEA, Kaj Lindvig has tried to influence the development of the Offshore Wind Industry, and in the period from 2005 to 2013 he was a member of the board of directors of the Danish Wind Industry Association. Beside this, he was a board member of Offshore Center Danmark from 2009 to 2013. Through these organisations he has had the possibility, with his visionary points of view, to influence the development; and through all the years, from 2002, he has also been a popular speaker at Danish as well as international conferences and exhibitions within the industry.

Kaj Lindvig, originally educated Bachelor of Commerce from the Business College in Aarhus, has held several different management positions in South-Danish companies, before he in 1995 accepted a position as Division Director of Semco Energi in Esbjerg and was among other things responsible for the merger of Semco Energi and Semco Marine to Semco Maritime in 1998, and finally in 2001 came to A2SEA.

Kaj Lindvig has decided to resign from his position with A2SEA end August and will through his new-established company, Lindvig Consulting, especially concentrate his future work on being board member in various Danish companies primarily within the offshore wind sector as well as on consultancy work for the same sector’s various suppliers. At the moment, Kaj Lindvig is non-executive board member of companies such as Steel Team in Hammelev, SubC Partner in Esbjerg and K2Management in Árhus. Kaj Lindvig will continue as a consultant for A2SEA.
