Denmark: Pension Funds Eye Wind Energy Projects

Hunting for higher returns, pension funds are acquiring stakes in wind power projects, reports Reuters.

Namely, these projects were dubbed too risky by banks and other investors.

DONG Energy’s acting deputy CEO for wind power Morten Buchgreitz said: “I hope this will be a model that catches on because, just looking at the northern European offshore market, we expect that the capacity will have to go from 4 gigawatts (GW) now to 37 GW by 2020, 10 times as much as today.”
