Det norske restores Alvheim output

Det norske, an oil exploration and development company, has restored the production capacity at the Alvheim FPSO located in the North Sea, offshore Norway, close to the UK sector. 

According to Det norske, the high voltage drive motor for one of the gas compressors has been replaced and the production capacity at the Alvheim FPSO has been restored, ahead of plan.

To remind, in November 2015, Det norske had to curb the output from the FPSO due to an electric fault in the high voltage drive motor for one of the gas export compressors. While the motor was being replaced, the Alvheim FPSO was producing at a reduced rate.

Production from the Alvheim field started in June 2008. Alvheim comprises the Kneler, Boa and Kameleon discoveries.

Det norske oljeselskap ASA is the operator of the Alvheim FPSO with 65 percent working interest and its partners are ConocoPhillips with a 20 percent interest and Lundin Norway with a 15 percent interest.
