DGI Secures Ichthys LNG Deal

DGI from the Netherlands has been awarded a contract from McDermott for delivery of a large number of shallow water subsea actuators for flooding systems with ROV override access for the Ichthys Project.

The Ichthys LNG project will be executed by McDermott for the EPC part (URF part) and Heerema for the Installation part, both on EPCI contract basis. Field location of the project is WA-285-P in the northern Browse Basin, about 200km north-west of Western Australia’s Kimberley coast, at the western edge of the Timor Sea.

The actuators DGI will supply for this project are required for temporary use during structure flooding or ballasting operation at water depths of 250 meters. One of the reasons DGI is awarded is the very short delivery time that was requested by the client.

DGI’s Regional CEO EMEA Dirk Smulders commented: “We are delighted to supply this system to McDermott Australia. For this particular project, McDermott was looking for an experienced and reliable partner with manufacturing facilities in Europe and a subsidiary in South East Asia. Thanks to the close co-operation between sister company Wilmax in Singapore and our Doedijns manufacturing plant in Cuijk Netherlands we could fulfill this need.”
