Diamond Offshore names SVP, General Counsel and Secretary

Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc. has announced that David L. Roland has been appointed Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, effective immediately.

Roland joins Diamond Offshore with over 20 years of corporate legal experience in the energy industry, including the last ten years as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at ION Geophysical Corporation, an NYSE-listed geophysical company. Prior to joining ION in 2004, Mr. Roland worked for seven years as a corporate and securities lawyer with a major law firm and ten years as a corporate lawyer with international energy and oilfield services companies.

Roland holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Houston and a Juris Doctorate degree with Distinction from St. Mary’s University.
