Diana Fixes Bulker Duo with Dutch Firm

Athens-based dry bulk shipping company Diana Shipping has inked charter deals for two of its dry bulk vessels with Rotterdam’s manufacturer and distributor of  grains Glencore Grain B.V.

The company’s Panamax dry bulker, MV Erato, was chartered out for a gross charter rate of USD 4,650 per day.

The 74,400 dwt ship, built in 2004, was hired for a period of about eleven to fourteen months.

Diana Shipping’s second charter contract, related to the Ice Class Panamax dry bulker MV Atalandi, was signed for a USD 5,300 daily charter rate.

Featuring a weight of over 77,500 dwt, the 2014-built MV Atalandi was hired for a period of minimum twenty to maximum twenty-five months.

Both charters commenced on March 26, 2016.

Diana said that the employments of the two vessels are expected to contribute about USD 4.6 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charters.
