Diana Secures Work for Panamax

Greek owner of dry bulk vessels Diana Shipping informed it has entered into a time charter contract with Phaethon International Company AG for M/V Clio, one of its Panamax ships.

The gross charter rate is USD 8,550 per day for a period of minimum thirteen to maximum sixteen months. The charter is expected to commence on July 3, 2017.

Since May 22, the 2005-built Clio has worked for Rotterdam-based Transgrain Shipping at a charter rate of 5,350 per day, the company’s data shows.

The new employment of the 73,691 dwt ship is anticipated to generate approximately USD 3.33 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter, according to Diana Shipping.

Diana Shipping’s fleet is currently comprised of 51 dry bulk vessels. As of June 22, the combined carrying capacity of the company’s fleet is approximately 5.9 million dwt, with a weighted average age of 7.89 years.
