Diana Shipping Secures Work for Two Bulkers

Athens-based dry bulk owner Diana Shipping has entered into a time charter contract for its 2013-built Capesize dry bulk vessel P. S. Palios with Singapore’s Koch Shipping.

Under the agreement, the 179,134 dwt bulker will be employed for a period of twelve to sixteen months at a gross charter rate of USD 10,550 per day.

The charter is expected to commence on January 21, 2017.

Additionally, Diana Shipping said that it has agreed to extend the present time charter contract with Geneva-based Cargill International S.A. for one of its Kamsarmax dry bulk vessels, the 82,131 dwt Myrto, for a period of twelve to fifteen months.

The company said the 2013-built ship will be chartered at a gross charter rate of USD 8,000 per day under the new deal, expected to commence on January 16, 2017.

The new contracts are anticipated to generate USD 6.68 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charters, according to Diana Shipping.
