DSME’s patents to be released to small enterprises

South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering is about to reveal more than a 100 shipbuilding-related patterns to small and medium-sized companies.

The company’s officials plan to make 105 patents related to LNG-powered vessels available to small and medium-sized enterprises, The Korea Herald reports.

In order to complete its plans, DSME will sign business contracts with South Gyeongsang Province branches of the Creative Economy Innovation Center and the Regional Intellectual Property Center.

The company informed that the LNG-fueled vessels cut on carbon dioxide emissions by 23% compared to conventional vessels and emit up to 95% less sulfur oxide.
