Dual-Fueled Fracking Unit Part of Cummins COE Tour at World LNG Fuels 2014

World LNG Fuels 2014 will feature two high-impact tours: Cummins’ Center of Excellence and INOXCVA’s LNG Tank and Railcar manufacturing facility. As part of the Cummins’ Center of Excellence tour the morning of Jan. 21 participants will be able examine a dual-fueled high-pressure pumping unit, commonly called a fracking rig.

“Technicians at Cummins’ Center of Excellence work to ready engines for marine and oil and gas clients,” said Bob Nimocks, World LNG Fuels program chairman. “We’re pleased tour participants will be able to see an LNG-fueled high-pressure pumping unit on display, something that few of us that don’t work in the oilfield get to see.”

Opened in 2011, Cummins’ 70,000 square foot Center of Excellence (COE) serves a key role in designing products for energy and marine clients. Packages from the COE meet exact customer specifications, tested, and packaged to Cummins’ standards. The standards ensure the highest quality, durability and uptime. All are backed by one Cummins’ global warranty. Once a package leaves the COE facility, it receives infant care. Technicians are trained on parts and maintenance. The fully integrated solutions from the Cummins COE deliver the superior performance and excellent reliability that customers expect.

At INOXCVA’s 42,000 square foot Baytown facilities, the company manufactures LNG storage systems. Attendees on the field tour will learn of various technologies for stationary and mobile applications, including highway and rail. INOXCVA manufactures and repairs LNG railcars, hydraulic fracturing systems, vertical and horizontal tanks, LNG mobile fuelers, LNG ISO containers and cryogenic transport trailers.

With some 75 speakers, including 24 fleets like Buquebus, UPS, Maersk and CSX the fourth annual World LNG Fuels conference will provide a forum for transportation executives to meet and learn of advancing capabilities from the natural gas industry.
