The EDF-operated Dunkirk LNG terminal in France received its first cargo of liquefied natural gas from Statoil’s Hammerfest LNG plant in Norway.

The cargo to France’s fourth LNG import terminal was delivered on Sunday onboard Teekay’s 165.500-cbm Meridian Spirit LNG tanker, Dunkerque LNG said in a brief social media statement.

Dunkirk LNG terminal started commercial operations on January 1 this year and has since then received five cargoes, including the latest one.

The terminal has a regasification capacity of 13 billion cubic meters per year. It is owned and operated by Dunkerque LNG, a company 65 percent owned by France’s EDF, 25 percent by Belgium’s Fluxys and 10 percent by French Total.
