Dutch Government Plans EUR 400 Million Renewable Energy Fund

The Dutch government has set goals to attain 16% of energy from renewables by 2020, and 100% by 2050.

The way they are trying to achieve this is by increasing the fund for renewable energy to EUR 400 million. The grant will be financed by taxes on electricity and natural gas, whereas the companies would be compensated in a different way for the higher taxes.

The Netherlands has already four offshore wind farms completed and eleven with authorized consent.
