E.ON E&P gets 12 new Norway licences

E.ON E&P has been awarded 12 new licences, including three operatorships, in the 2014 Awards in Predefined Areas (APA) in Norway.

“This is the highest number of awards to E.ON E&P to date and we are very satisfied with being awarded these licences. The award shows that the authorities recognise E.ON E&P’s competence and effort in delivering strong applications,” says Frank Sivertsen, CEO, E.ON E&P.

The awarded licences are located in all regions on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (the Barents Sea, the Norwegian Sea and the North Sea), including prospective blocks not previously included in the APA.

“This is the eleventh consecutive year of E.ON being awarded acreage, and shows our commitment to building up a strong and balanced portfolio in Norway. The awarded blocks provide access to important prospective acreage, which is a key element in delivering on the company’s long-term exploration strategy, and demonstrates E.ON’s commitment to the Norwegian Continental Shelf,” says Haakon Haaland, Executive Vice President Business Development and Exploration, E.ON E&P.

E.ON E&P was awarded seven licences in the North Sea (two as operator), three licences in the Norwegian Sea and two licences in the Barents Sea (one as operator).
