Egypt Issues Tender for FSRU

EGAS of Egypt has issued a tender for an FSRU which it hopes to use by next April, Reuters reported, citing EGAS’s deputy chairman Khaled Abdel Badie as saying.

We are renting it,” he said. “It is expected to be used by next April. We hope so. It depends on the offers,” Abdel Badie added.

Egypt, which has no LNG import infrastructure, owns a liquefaction plant and related infrastructure at Idku, approximately 50 kilometres east of Alexandria in Egypt.

Currently, two trains are up and running, each at a capacity of 3.6 million tonnes per annum.
