Norwegian offshore shipping company Eidesvik has entered into an agreement to sell the platform supply vessel Viking Nereus.

The Norwegian company said on Thursday that the sale is dependent on the buyer’s acceptance of the technical condition of the vessel, however, the company did not name the buyer in question.

According to the agreement, if the buyer accepts the vessel, the delivery will be in the fourth quarter of 2016.

Eidesvik noted that an impairment loss of approximately NOK 55 million ($6.8M) will be recorded in the third quarter of 2016.

The Viking Nereus is of a UT 755L design, built in 2004 at Aker Aura in Norway.

The vessel was laid up in 2015 due to a weak spot market in the North Sea. Before that, it had also been stacked for a period of time in 2014.
