Elengy increases Fos Tonkin LNG truck loading capacity

Elengy, an Engie company has increased the truck loading capacity at the Fos Tonkin LNG terminal from 8 to 11 loadings per day.

The use of LNG to supply off-grid industrial sites or as a road fuel, cleaner and cheaper than traditional fuels, is growing rapidly, Elengy said on Tuesday.

Due to the terminal’s location and continuous service improvement, the facility has become “the preferred place” for supplying southern France and Italy with LNG loaded on trucks Elengy said, adding that this led to the latest increase in loading capacity.

However, the company said further increase to 12 truck loadings per day will be carried out this autumn as development has already started.

Launched in 2013 in Montoir-de-Bretagne and 2014 in Fos-sur-Mer, the LNG truck loading service is growing with nearly 2 700 trucks loaded in 2016 and nearly 3 500 expected in 2017.
