Emerald Networks Inks Landing Party Agreement with Mayo County Council in Ireland

Emerald Networks, a new-build network submarine cable system that will connect North America to Europe and Iceland with extraordinary new capacity, announced today the signing of an agreement with Mayo County Council.

Under this agreement, Mayo County Council will provide certain rights and required support for the landing site of the Emerald Express subsea cable in County Mayo, Ireland. This infrastructure will enable Emerald Express to utilize the most innovative optical technologies and provide the most advanced undersea telecommunications system ever constructed to date.

This news is the latest in a series of strategic company milestones that Emerald Networks has announced recently. Over the past four months alone, the company announced the capacity sale to Vodafone, Landing Party Agreement with AT&T for a cable station in Shirley, NY, a strategic investment by Storage Engine, Inc., as well as the appointments of Dr. William C. Marra to Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Phillip Magiera to Chief Financial Officer and Dr. Gisli Hjalmtysson to its Board of Directors.
