According to the letter of intent (LOI) the 3D EM data acquisition contract value is $6.8 million.

Following the LOI award, CEO of EMGS, Roar Bekker, stated:  “We are pleased to announce the first of several new projects in Asia. Due to increased demand for our EM services among new and existing customers we anticipate to keep one vessel operating in this region for most of or all of 2015.”

The survey will be done using the vessel BOA Thalassa. The vessel arrived in Singapore for inspection mid-October and it’s expected to start the acquisition on October 24.

BOA Thalassa is a MT 6007 design vessel, custom built for seabed logging operations to detect hydrocarbons beneath the seabed.

The ship’s length overall is 80,35 meters with a beam of 16,40 meters. Deadweight is approximately 3000 tonnes, with maximum speed of approximately 17 knots.
