Solstad’s largest vessel set for two years around the world

The largest vessel in Solstad Offshore’s fleet has received a letter of intent (LoI) for a two-year contract that covers operations worldwide.

The construction support vessel (CSV) Normand Maximus secured the LoI with what Solstad says is an international subsea contractor, with the contract to begin in the first quarter of 2027, for a firm period to Q1 2029. It also includes an option for potential extension to Q1 2030.

As part of the charter party, Solstad Offshore will deliver, with support from Omega Subsea, two work-class remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) with full manning, as well as tooling and survey services.

The 2016-built CSV is 178 meters long and can accommodate up to 180 people. It features a 900t AHC crane and 550t VLS and is said to be the largest vessel in the Solstad fleet.

Normand Maximus’ current one-year assignment is also with an undisclosed client, with the vessel fully committed until December 2026.
