Emirates LNG Wins Govt Approval for Its Import Terminal

Emirates LNG, Mubadala’s joint venture with International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC), said that the Abu Dhabi Executive Council has approved its proposed 9 mtpa LNG import terminal to be located at Fujairah.

Emirates LNG will seize this opportunity to establish itself as a key player in the Middle East within the global LNG market,” Reuters cited Ahmed Matar Al Mazrouei, CEO of Emirates LNG as saying.

Technip of France has already completed the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for the LNG project.

Emirates LNG was formed by Mubadala and IPIC to secure additional gas supplies to meet energy demand from the UAE’s growing economy.

Once completed, Emirates LNG will commence the import of LNG cargoes from the international market and the facility will be capable of supplying 1.2 billion cubic feet/day of natural gas, which will be used primarily for power generation.
