Enagas: Spain Gas Demand Sets New Record

Enagás said that temand for natural gas in Spain set a new annual record of 1,440 GWh, which topped the previous two highs of 1,429 GWh and 1,427 GWh set on 2 December and 28 November, respectively.

This record was due to greater demand for natural gas for electricity generation, which also set a new record yesterday of 362 GWh. The increase is due to a decline in wind power generated and the fact that two nuclear power plants are currently unavailable, according to the company.

As with the previous records, this new annual high in demand was exceeded comfortably, meeting the entire demand of the System.
