Enagás takes coronavirus measures to continue normal ops

Spanish LNG terminal operator, Enagás said it has taken additional measures and activated its coronavirus (COVID-19) contingency plan to continue normal operations. 

The company has registered one positive case of infection involving an employee at its Madrid head office and has proceeded to close the floor of the building where he worked, as well as a number of common spaces as a preventive measure.

Since the declaration of a situation of “reinforced containment” by the Ministry of Health and the Community of Madrid on Monday, March 9, the company has activated its contingency plan to ensure the normal operation of its facilities and gas infrastructure, Enagás statement reads.

In cases where the physical presence of employees is essential to guarantee the continuity of the operation, the Contingency Plan includes specific measures such as staff mobilization, reorganization of shifts and reserves, intensification of cleaning and disinfection, coordination with contingency plans implemented by critical service contractors, and identification and acquisition of critical material, among other actions.

Following the guidelines given by the health authorities, Enagás has already restricted the travel of its employees as far as possible and has also postponed scheduled events, training courses and in-house conferences involving travel.

The Gas System is functioning normally and the planned operation plans are being followed.
