Enel to Buy LNG from Cheniere

Enel of Italy is reportedly close to signing a 20-year supply deal for 1 billion cubic metres of gas per annum with LNG player Cheniere Energy.

Deliveries are expected to start from 2019, Reuters quoted Enel’s chief financial officer Luigi Ferraris as saying on Thursday.

Cheniere Energy’s unit Corpus Christi Liquefaction has entered on Wednesday into an LNG deal with Endesa, in which Enel owns 92.06% share, under which the Spanish company has agreed to purchase approximately 1.5 mtpa of LNG upon the commencement of operations from the LNG export facility being developed near Corpus Christi, Texas.
