Eni Gets Go-Ahead to Use Transocean Spitsbergen on Marulk (Norway)

PSA Norway has granted approval to Eni Norge AS for the use of Eni Gets Go-Ahead to Use Transocean Spitsbergen on Marulk (Norway) for production drilling on the Marulk gas field in the Norwegian Sea.

The consent relates to use of the semi submersible drilling rig Transocean Spitsbergen for drilling and completion of a sidetrack on a previously drilled production well on the Marulk field.

Marulk is located in the Norwegian Sea, approximately 225 km west-northwest of Brønnøysund and approx. 25 km southwest of the Norne field. The field is developed with a subsea facility tied to the Norne FPSO production and storage facility. Water depth in the area is 367 metres.

The plan is to start drilling and associated completion at the beginning of October 2012 at the earliest, and the operation has a planned duration of 88 days.
