Eni Norge Wins Operatorship in Barents Sea PL 697 (Norway)

As part of the Awards in the Predefined Areas (APA) round for 2012 Eni Norge has been awarded operatorship in PL 697 and partnership in PL 696 in the Barents Sea, as well as partnership in PL 091 D in the Norwegian Sea.

Eni Norge said it was pleased with the award. It confirms their long term strategy for the company and for the Barents Sea.

In PL 697 Eni Norge has been offered operatorship and 65 percent share, while Statoil holds a 20 percent interest. In PL 696, Eni Norge holds 30 percent share, with Statoil as operator (50 percent) and Petoro as partner (20 percent). In the Norwegian Sea, Eni Norge holds 7,9 percent in PL 091 D, together with Statoil as operator (59,1 percent) and ExxonMobil as partner (33 percent).

The APA 2012 was announced by the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy on 15th January 2012 and comprised 51 production licences, in the Barents Sea (3), Norwegian Sea (14) and the North Sea (34). 40 companies were offered participation interests and 23 of these companies were offered operatorship.
