ESB Seeks Interest in Wave Energy Array Installation Off Ireland

Electricity Supply Board (ESB), Ireland’s electricity utility, has invited Expressions of Interest in building a 5MW wave energy array at a potential location off the west coast of Ireland.

The contract award relates to supply and installation of the wave energy array, including all ancillary requirements.

The project is called WestWave Project, and it aims to develop the first wave energy project in Ireland by 2015 by generating an initial 5MW of clean renewable electricity.

The interested parties can express their interest by January 31, 2014. The deadline for request for documents is January 17, 2014.
