Farstad Shipping grabs Ichthys LNG work

Farstad Shipping on Friday said it has grabbed several contracts in Australia, among which are two for the support of Inpex-lead Ichthys LNG project. 

The company, that operates a fleet of 55 vessels with one subsea vessel under construction, said that the Ichthys LNG project extended the contract for the anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel, Far Sword, for additional 17 months starting from March 31, 2018.

McDermott Australia has also awarded two AHTS vessels contracts to assist with the mooring operations of the Inpex-led Ichthys LNG project’s central processing facility (CPF) and FPSO, which is due to commence within Q2 2017.

PSV Far Seeker, has also been contracted by McDermott Australia for a period of 40 days, starting within the month of December, with an option for another 40 day extension.

Commercial terms of the agreements have not been disclosed, Farstad Shipping said.

In addition to the Ichthys LNG contracts, the company has secured work for its two AHTS vessels, Far Sirius and Far Saracen, to support ConocoPhillips Australia’s upcoming Barossa drilling campaign commencing in January 2017.
