FERC sets Golden Pass LNG export project final EIS date

The United States Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued a notice of schedule for environmental review of the Golden Pass LNG export project located on the Sabine-Neches Waterway in Jefferson County, Texas.

March 4, 2016, has been set as the date FERC will issue the final environmental impact statement on the project. Other agencies issuing federal authorizations will have a 90-day deadline to make their decisions. This period ends on June 2, 2016, FERC said in its notice.

The project would involve the construction of an LNG export integrated with, the existing Golden Pass LNG import terminal with the capability to export up to 15.6 million metric tons per annum of domestic natural gas as LNG.

Additionally, the project would include approximately 2.6 miles of new 42-inchdiameter pipeline and associated facilities in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana and three new compressor stations located in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana and Jefferson and Orange Counties, Texas to enable bidirectional flow capability.
