FESRC and FEFU Hold the Fleet of Russia Contest

The science and engineering contest The Fleet of Russia is held for undergraduate and postgraduate students of higher education institutions and established by the Far Eastern Federal University in association with Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center as part of the keystone project Shipbuilding and Offshore Structures within the FEFU development program.

The contest committee reviews essays on the relevant shipbuilding topics—“Offshore Engineering Structures Including Sea Shelf Development Facilities”, “Vessel Power and Automation Systems”, “Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering”, “Welding Engineering”, and “Environment Protection”.

Staging the Fleet of Russia contest has already become traditional. It was held first in May of 2012 as part of the International Science Forum of Students, Postgraduates and Young Scientists of the Asia-Pacific countries. At that time, 13 projects from the students and postgraduates of the three Far Eastern higher education institutions—the FEFU Engineering School, the Nevelskoy Marine State University, and the Komsomolsk-on-Amur State Technical University—progressed to the contest’s final phase.

The results of the second science and engineering contest The Fleet of Russia for undergraduate and post-graduate students will be finalized on February 4. The winners will be awarded diplomas and valuable prizes with their works published in science magazines.
