Flex LNG co-founders call it quits

Flex LNG, the company controlled by billionaire John Fredriksen, informed that Jostein Ueland and Trym Tveitnes have resigned from their positions as chief financial officer and chief technical officer.

Both Ueland and Tveitnes are co-founders of Flex LNG, which was established in August 2006.

They “have agreed to support the company in this transitional phase” and will remain in their positions until 30th of September 2016, Flex LNG said on Tuesday.

The company will continue to contract services from Frontline Management Ltd. (Bermuda), which includes technical management, newbuilding supervision and administrative services, it added.

Flex LNG recently appointed Jonathan Cook as chief executive officer. Cook is currently chief marketing officer for Cardiff LNG (UK) Ltd and will commence his new duties during the fourth quarter of this year.

Flex LNG has ordered two Panamax LNG carriers with a capacity of 174,000 cbm at South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries. The vessels are expected to be delivered in the first half of 2018.
