Former SeaBird man takes CFO role at Axxis Geo Solutions

Axxis Geo Solutions (AGS), a Norwegian ocean bottom node seismic company, has appointed a new chief financial officer (CFO) and chief commercial officer (CCO).

AGS said on Wednesday that it had picked Nils Haugestad as its new CFO. At the same time, Svein Knudsen – the former CFO of the company – will take over the position of CCO.

Knudsen, who was the CFO of AGS for two years, will now take new responsibilities in the company’s Executive Committee.

Knudsen’s previous roles include 11 years in the position of CFO with EMGS and senior roles in the finance and treasury functions at PGS, and before this – two years within the investment bank division of Nordea Bank in Norway. Most recently he was the non-executive director of MultiClient Geophysical.

As for Haugestad, he has been the CFO of SeaBird Exploration for the past eight years. He has almost 30 years of experience in investment banking, principal investments and corporate strategy.

He joined SeaBird from Fokus Capital where he was a founding partner and CEO. Before this, Haugestad was the chief operating officer of Evolvence Capital. He also held a number of positions in New York with Citigroup, Citicorp Venture Capital, Credit Suisse, RBC Capital Markets, and UBS.
