The 173,000-cbm LNG carrier named Prachi was delivered on November 30, the four-company consortium said in a joint statement.

The vessel joins Petronet LNG’s fleet as its fourth chartered vessel.

India’s largest LNG importer chartered the membrane-type LNG carrier for a period of 19 years.

Prachi will transport the chilled fuel from Chevron’s giant Gorgon project located on Barrow island in Western Australia to India.

The 295-meter long vessel will be managed by the Shipping Corporation of India.
