FPSO works call for Huntington field shutdown

Norwegian Energy Company (Noreco) in August 2014 produced 2 775 barrels of oil equivalents per day (boepd) on average.

Net realised price in August was USD 92.7 per barrel of oil equivalents (USD 99.3 per barrel of oil) after adjustments for inventory, NGL and gas prices.

Production at the Huntington field, in the UK North Sea, was closed down from 31 July to 26 August for planned maintenance at the CATS gas transportation system and on the floating production unit Voyageur Spirit.

As ordinary production was about to resume, technical issues related to the low pressure compressor on board curbed output from the field to around 10-15,000 boepd (100 per cent basis).

According to the most recent update from the field operator, certain equipment on board the production platform will need to be replaced before production can be restored to full rates.

This will call for a complete shutdown of production which is expected to last at least 7 days. Noreco has said it intends to provide an update to the market as soon as the field is back on stream or on 16 September at the latest.

Production at the Nini field was stable through August, with only short periods of downtime. Production at the Cecilie field was around 250-300 boepd net to Noreco for parts of the month, but it remained unstable.

Siri storage tank

As reported before, the technical installation work related to the permanent repair of the Siri platform, where both Nini and Cecilie products are processed, was completed in July and production from the Siri field, offshore Denmark,  has partly resumed.

Documentation and authority approvals remain before final commissioning, which will allow use of the subsea storage tank. This repair work, combined with production from the Siri field, is expected to result in more stable production from the other fields in the Siri area as well. The crude oil storage tank at the Siri platform is likely to be on line early in the fourth quarter.

The temporary solution with production directly to shuttle tanker will then be terminated. The Oselvar field had stable production through August and the Lulita field came back on stream on 5 August when the annual maintenance programme at the Harald platform and the Harald to Tyra gas transportation system was completed.

Lulita thereafter had stable production until it closed down 27 August due to gas delivery chain problems. Restart is expected soon. According to the operator the Enoch field is now expected to restart production towards the end of the third quarter or early in the fourth quarter.
