France EDF to Pursue Offshore Wind Contracts Abroad

Just after winning the tender with Alstom SA and Dong Energy A/S, Henri Proglio, the CEO of EDF said in an interview with Le Figaro that they will pursue offshore wind contracts abroad..

Last week, the French government announced winners of the 10 billion-euro ($13.3 billion) worth offshore wind tender.

EDF, together with Alstom and Dong Energy won right to develop three sites, Saint-Nazaire (Loire-Atlantique), Courseulles-sur-Mer (Calvados) and Fecamp (Seine-Maritime).

The right for the fourth site at Saint-Brieuc was won by Iberdrola, in partnership with French Areva.
